　　There are people who believe that some numbers bring good luck, while others bring bad luck. For instance, in China the number eight is thought to be lucky. Turning our attention to the West, we find that the number seven is considered lucky, but the number 13 is avoided like the plague.

　　In spite of all these claims, most people would agree that there is little evidence that numbers have any influence on our lives. In fact, they say, the reverse seems to be the case. For one thing, we might expect calculators to break down every time they note the number 13, and for another, although every week has seven days we know that not every week is lucky for us.

　　Weighing the pros and cons of these arguments, I am inclined to agree with the latter point of view. It is obvious that there is no scientific basis for the belief that there is a connection between luck and numbers. All in all, it seems to me to be superstition.

　　默，很容易在寓教于樂中讓英語得到提升。

　　我是去年才了解到這部美劇，當(dāng)時就立馬去網(wǎng)上搜了一下，結(jié)果好像所有的網(wǎng)站關(guān)于它的版權(quán)都到期了，就不用說可以觀看了。后來在一個英語網(wǎng)看到了聽力錄音，但是沒有具體了解過劇情，所以聽了一遍就聽不下去了。

　　這幾天又聽到有英語博主推薦它，然后底下評論的網(wǎng)友也很活躍，于是我就直接在評論下咨詢了看劇的頻道，很多就有人回復(fù)了。

　　按他的說法現(xiàn)在網(wǎng)上就可以搜到劇集資源，今天我嘗試去搜了一下，果然出了好幾個網(wǎng)站可以看了，而且畫面質(zhì)感也很好。

　　正奇怪著，剛好又看到了這部戲準(zhǔn)備在25年后的現(xiàn)在續(xù)拍，我想這也是為什么這些版權(quán)又可以的原因了吧，就是一種預(yù)熱。

　　我才觀看了第一集，也明白為什么它這么受歡迎的原因了，我決定用昨天學(xué)到的看美劇提升英語的方法來看劇，雖然剛開始有點難，不僅語速跟不上，而且有不少生詞，還有一些詞雖認(rèn)識但是對于翻譯不太理解。

　　不管怎么樣先開始行動起來吧。

　　I also went to Li Jiang. The roads in that city are just like the Eight Diagrams. Any road in the city goes to the center of Li Jiang. A river runs through the whole city. If you go along the river, you'll never get lost. There are many ethnic minority people in Yunnan. They are very cordial. And they all like singing and dancing. We danced with them around the campfire that night. I really had a good time.
