    Lesson 33.

    Properties: Recorder, overhead projector; pictures and some real objects

    Language focus:

    Useful expressions: be made of; bruch; woolen; apiece of metal/ wool; lock doors; have a try.

    Teaching Procedures:

    Ⅰ. Showing aims:

    1. Master some useful expressions.

    2. Learn the grammar: The Active Voice and the Passive Voice.

    Ⅱ. Revision

    Check homework.. According the pictures , learn the new words.

    Ⅲ.Presentation:

    Show the SS the real objects, at the same time ask the Ss three questions. Do not write the questions on the BB , just practise orally. The three questions are:

    1) What’s this in English?

    2) What’s it made of?

    3) What’s it used for?

    Encourage the Ss to answer them correctly. Teach the SS the knowledge of this part through speaking. Try to answer the three questions. Make them understand the lesson.

    Ⅳ.Practice:

    T: Ask the Ss to describe the new words in English. Practising: be made of; be used for doing, and keep.

    Present this dialogue:

    A What’s it made of?

    B: It’s made of metal.

    A: What’s it used for?

    B: It’s used for doing…

    A: Can you keep the room clean?

    B: OK.

    See if the SS can make sentences with them. Play the tape again fot the Ss to repeat.

    Ask the students to make up a similar dialogue, and share with the class.

    Ⅴ.Teaching grammar:

    T: Today we have learn The Active Voice and the Passive Voice. Look at the examples on theBb.

    The Active Voice and the Passive Voice.

    1. Many people speak English. English is spoken by many people.

    2. They produce wool in this factory. Wool is produced in this factory.

    3. She uses pans for cooking. Pans are used for cooking by her.

    4. Everyone loves me. I am loved by everyone.

    5. People make kites in Beijing. Kites are made in Beijing.

    Ask the ss to make ten sentences, and change them into Passive Voice of different forms. They may do it by themselves or individually. After that, choose some Ss to read their sentences. At last, let them hand in their writings.

    Read the dialogue in pairs. Have some of the SS read it for the class.

    Part 1. Book closed. Listen to the tape and answer the question: What’s this?

    Look at the dialogue in Part1. Have the ss ask and answer in pairs and write down the answers. Use the questions of Part 1 to help.Get some SS to share their answers in the class.

    Ⅱ. Revision:

    Revise Lesson 33. Practise the dialogue of Lesson 33 in front of the class.

    Revise some useful expressions. Have the Ss discuss it in groups of four, then get some groups to give out their ideas.

    Have the SS give some instructions to decorate the Christmas tree.

    Ⅲ. Presentation:

    Show the Ss a map of the world on the Bb. Have the SS watch and have some knowledge about the countries in the world. Go over the names of different countries. Ask : What’s the name of the country? Or Do you know the name of the country? Ask the SS to pay attention to the spellings.

    Ⅳ.Pre-read:

    In small groups, get the Ss to discuss about the countries.
